- Robert Ballesty is a 36 year old father of two originally from Ballyfermot, who is married and has lived in Lucan for the last number of years. Robert who is a butcher by trade is actively involved in his local GAA club. Robert has recently campaigned against the proposed building of an incinerator in Rathcoole, which will have a detrimental effect on the people of Dublin, and has campaigned against the savage budget cuts in health and education. Robert will be standing in the Lucan and Palmerstown areas in the local elections next June. When elected, Robert will continue to campaign for an increase in community Gardaí to combat the rise in anti social behaviour in Lucan and Palmerstown. Robert will call for more public transport and better traffic management to ease the ever increasing pressure on our already over burdened public roads. Robert was to the forefront of the succesful campaign to stop the proposed building of an incinerator in Rathcoole.

Since being elected by the people of Dublin to Europe in 2004 Mary Lou has fought to ensure the rights of workers are protected, in 2006 being shortlisted as 'MEP of the Year' for her work on workers rights. She has also been prominent on homelessness and in defense of public services.
In 2008 Mary Lou led Sinn Féin's campaign against the unfair Lisbon Treaty. She stood up for Ireland’s interests in Europe. If you want this work to continue make sure YOUR voice is represented in the European parliament. Re-elect Mary Lou McDonald.
